Ah, the GTi6 will never go. It's been too much of a journey to get to this point. There is too much skin in the game now to hand it over to someone else.

This 450SEL is interesting. Clearly a UK import but I like the spec with red and velour interior. Would be high compression engine too.

Looking closely, the car has a surprise: It was never fitted with A/C from new.
Obvioulsy many lower spec cars in the UK were not fitted with A/C, like 280s and 350s, but I have never seen the almost range topper 450SEL with no A/C, especially such a late one:

I’d offer $4k to begin with.
Probably get it for $5k.

If I had not just bought the 560 I would be interested. And I need to sell my 300.
Would want to fit A/C though. Maybe a vintage air unit with factory controls which would deliver more cooling than the original 116 unit.

The 450 is a very nice car though.

The 72 Statesman I had was without air conditioning and to be honest, it was a massive bonus.

Made the car so much more original.

That SEL looks really good. Love the red interior.
all it needs is to loose those aftermarket chrome arch trims!
