[motec 6.9]

Being a vehicle that was not sold new in Australia. And a model that does have rust issues. I would like to know from which country and when it was imported. Yes I like SEC but they need very diligent checking.

I think the SEL is the pick of these. The SLC mentions rust and these cars rust like nothing else. While the 72 is the best of them, the USA 107 is not a model I would have much to do with. They are much worse than the ones we got here.

Now this seems a terrific price for what looks like a very nice and well presented SEC.

This SEC is the more desirable Series 2, but most people will assume its a series 1 as we didn't get the series 2 until 1986, whereas in Europe it was available late 1985.

It is in the very popular 199 Blue/Black, and it has nice AMG wheels. I don't like the smoked tail lenses but they are a 5 minute swap.

The 500 has more power than the AU 560, but very tall 2.24 gearing making it the long legged cruiser.

Assuming its not rusty looks very nice.

Here is a desirable series 1 280E. Much nicer than the more common series 2 cars you see.

The 280E was a pretty impressive car for its time. 185hp out of 2.8 liter twin cam six. Lighter than the S class so it goes pretty well.

I guess it would be almost like the AMG E class of its day.

The early cars like this have the much nicer rear lights, quarterlight windows, better steering wheel, nicer front end etc. The refresh 'modernized' the /8 and personally I think spoiled the look.

I have never seen a kids car done this well.
Music and suspension as well.
It even has a remote in case JR gets to out of control

For two grand and working A/C could be a cheap daily or even a good first car for a p plater. Hard to hoon around too much in a an automatic 180E.

So much want for the SAAB, and it's so close to me. Now how to make it a legit instant write off?
My Mum bought her first SAAB in 1983, a 5 door 900 GL. I've always liked them. She had 3 or 4 of them until we finally convinced her a Benz was a better choice. Every one of them blew a head gasket at some point, they never overheated or misbehave but one day at a service or oil check the tell tales would be there.
The pick of the bunch was a 1991 3 door 900 EMS 16V. That car handled so so well.
