So much want for the SAAB, and it's so close to me. Now how to make it a legit instant write off?
My Mum bought her first SAAB in 1983, a 5 door 900 GL. I've always liked them. She had 3 or 4 of them until we finally convinced her a Benz was a better choice. Every one of them blew a head gasket at some point, they never overheated or misbehave but one day at a service or oil check the tell tales would be there.
The pick of the bunch was a 1991 3 door 900 EMS 16V. That car handled so so well.

Office furniture - a mobile meeting room for clients. It's under the deductible threshold.
The Ford V4 is most unlikely to blow head gaskets.

It was sold in the U.S. however.

I have heard of a 300D modded with a turbocharger.
What I do not know, is if lower compression pistons are desirable with a diesel engine, if a turbo is installed.

Do the American 300D, and the American 300D Turbo have different compression ratios?

Yes they do. The turbo motors are lower compression. And other mods, I think oilers in the rods and other misc stuff like different injectors.

Better to import a USA 300D with a rusty body and swap the running gear to a RHD chassis with bad motor.

Hi Geoff, I very much like the exterior colour, and certainly the interior is most attractive to the eye - a nice, rich caramel, and in beautiful condition. Mileage - so so. Would I buy it ? No, not at that price, its condition not withstanding. Just think what other Benzes are available in that price range, and what other examples of a more desirable commodity can be sourced very easily. Witness Patrick's 430 S-Class as an example !

The first two are well priced, although I would take the 300SEL over the 280. Even though that 280 is in great shape and a great colour, the 300 is the much better car, even taking into account the M103's higher need for things like head gaskets over the M110. the last one could be a good car, but the seller would need to finish most of the work to command a price like that.

My first was a 127 and the next was the 125s.

Reminds me of those ads where it’s says the AC just needs a regas to work.
