The SBC problems turned me off the E Class platform. If MB extended the 25 year warranty offered in the States to Oz I'd be all over a CLS55. I've driven a CL55 and they are scary fast.

I do recall that, but couldn't recall the year change, as well as the change to the M273 Engine.
It was my excuse to myself to go for a S Class. Having driven both Dad's W212 and my W220 I still prefer the S. It's just more refined and cosseting.

This is quite a nice looking and well maintained car. Certainly the interior is well above average when compared with some of the other offerings that have featured on TK. It is only the driver's seat with suspect pleats - even the back seat, normally badly subject to collapse, doesn't look too bad. Regards Styria
Geoff, that's an absolutely gorgeous motor car. It's not cheap though, is it ? I would want to be a "rich man" before toying with a car like that, plus a very experienced and dedicated mechanic to look after it. However, that not really what we should be talking about - we should just look at the car in wonderment and appreciate what you can see by way of interior styling etc. Just don't look under the bonnet. Regards Styria
........I do think it's a bit rough around the edges. It would not be on my short list. Personally, I don't think the interior is right for the exterior - or the other way round. Also, by the looks of it, someone has "blackened" the under bonnet paint appearance. It's somewhat of a lazy and retrograde step. Regards Styria
Bryce, it's safe to say that this collection represents CARS OF THE WEEK. What a great picture, and what great cars. Personally, I am just blown away. Regards Styria
N.B. BTW, I wonder how the owners have resolved a possible issue with the suitability of our petrol with the Bentley's mechanicals ? One other thing - both driver and passenger have no protective eye coverings, and no protection from the elements as far as head gear is concerned.
Geoff, that's an absolutely great looking car and appears to be in fabulous condition. Do you or anyone else on the forum have an opinion on this model, and the possible issues that may be inherent with the E500 ? Are there any quirks or hugely expensive items on these cars ? I would be grateful for any information. Thanks for showing it on TK. Regards Styria
