I’m interested in the low pressure SLS hoses. Where did you source them from? I’m not sure if they’re the same as the HPF versions, which are a bugger being an unusual metric size, with no simple imperial equivalent. In fact the original hose may even be different sizes at each end!

For the SLS, I just used fuel hose. I found people on the forums who had good luck with it, and MercedesSource reccomend it.

On the SLS cars its quite a short length from the reservoir to the pump. Not sure if the HPF is similar.

This is the low pressure hose, so no fittings, just hose clamps.

The high pressure hose does have fittings, but I didn't have leaks from that one.

I’m also very interested in the reproduction windscreen seal! Where did you find that?

Its not the full windscreen seal, its the one that seals against the bottom of the window against the plastic cowl covers.

I got it, and the wiper shaft boots from carus parts in germany.

A friend of mine in the MBCNSW put me onto them after he showed me the nice new seal in his 420SEL. The seals are not expensive, but the shipping is quite expensive for one seal. Works better if you can get a few. Maybe you’ve got a few mates in the MBCV who want them too.

I purchased these wheels recently from the benz shed.
In my mind the ideal wheel for the 126. 16" is the sweet spot for comfort vs handling. Having driven cars with 14, 16, 16, and 17 I've formed that opinion. Obviously not all agree as the 17" version of this wheel is worth more.

They are now with barrel bros to be refinished. Two are slightly buckled.

It looks like they have done a very good job. Where did you have the wheels re-painted?
The only place I know of and have used that does a really top job is Virgin Wheels. I recently scraped one of the wheels on the E Estate but I had it repaired in house at Mercedes-Benz with an excellent result. They have a flat charge of $240 per wheel which is more than many but the result is a factory finish and that is what I wanted.

I had them done at Barrel Bros in milperra. There were so many bad coats of paint that they needed a complete back to metal refinish. Two of them were also very slightly bent so needed to be fixed. Total cost was $1490.

Not cheap, but the wheels are now as new and to take them back to bare metal and just paint wasn't going to be a whole lot cheaper.

Any pix with them on the car? They must be rather soft material cause some of mine are also slightly buckled. BB do know how to charge but you get what you pay for & they do a great job.

I've not actually fitted them yet. with the lockdowns I have not been able to spend much time at the small warehouse unit where I store the cars.
The wheels are pretty light, so makes sense they could buckle a bit.

I need to fit the Pentas on the 450SLC first. Then I am going to use the lug nuts that are currently on the 450SLC (the long ones) with these wheels on the 560SEC. I have some other long lungnuts, but they are not nearly as nice as the ones on the SLC. SLC tyres are ordered, but have not showed up yet. Still in Melbourne it looks like.

The wheels are now mounted on the car. I also took time to try and clean out the wheel arches before mounting them.
I'm glad I did. The front lug nuts were not all that tight, and one was even missing. I think that was from when the brake hoses were changed (not by me).

I'm really happy with how they look.
