Rare find of collection in Wisconsin

Mate, I have ZERO experience in the cars you mention, that’s why this forum is just fantastic and the sharing of this experience is just the best. I need to spend two full days at Eastern Creek (where my Rolls-Royce earned a trophy a few years ago) with you guys, just showing me about these...

    Ceramic paint treatment?

Of course it is of interest Brian. It’s your car, and that is what makes it interesting. That is amazing economy considering it’s still very low k.

    Continuation - grinding and de-coking !

I completely understand cheap insurance Styria. Your cars give you the reliability and service due to your diligent work in keeping your oil fresh. Question. When the Jazz is driven, how far/long is it usually driven for? If it does not get up to a full, operating temp, for a good period of...

    Ceramic paint treatment?

Ohhhhhh boy. That sounds like when I start training people ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Then you should do nothing to the E350 Brian. It will be good for many years. Any information on the Estate?

    Ceramic paint treatment?

Brian, Please check with Mercedes Benz as to what has actually been done to your paint work at the factory, (if any) The gold S430 I had, had factory paint protection and it was amazing. I’d hate to do anything to that factory finish that may effect its longevity.

    Continuation - grinding and de-coking !

All you mention Is spot on Styria. Modern oil, modern lead free fuels, super hot, very lean & efficient combustion (no unburnt fuel or correctly called soot particulates exiting the combustion chamber) combined with modern engine design all render build up obsolete. I’ve seen modern engines...

    Some W116 Screensavers

Great pics Styria. I just love the shape of the W116. However, as mentioned previously, I’m a 116 with hub caps guy. Just the soft spot I have from my early days as an apprentice.

    Continuation - grinding and de-coking !

Very interesting read Styria. With today’s modern oils and fuels, a “valve grind & de coke” is a thing of the past thankfully.

 You could never forget it could you. A wrap is a good idea. Was it just me Ant, or is it pretty ordinary? Maybe one of us might really like this.
