I've been really stuck into the cars the past week and spent almost 3 solid days working on Green Lantern with the help of my dad. We pulled the front and rear screens out followed by bumpers, centre console, dashboard, heater, front guards, fuse box, fuel tank, fuel pump assembly, sunroof and motor, exhaust, engine and trans, tailshaft and finally the whole rear axle assembly. It's really amazing to see how it was all put together by MB and how it comes apart. Not quite finished yet, but after a few more hours the remainder will be off to the wreckers.... Pix to follow after a short break in Tassie.
Most of it was fairly straight forward however I'm still perplexed on how the driveshafts separate from the diff and rear hubs since there's very little lateral movement even with them disconnected. Surely you don't have to drop the diff from the subframe or remove the whole swing arm??
