Thank you Bryce for your kind thoughts.
One needs to drive (and own) a CLK V8 to understand how amazing these cars are.
Unfortunately this one is black (on black) and I try not to ever buy a black car again (Ive had a few: they get very hot and they stay dirty)
But this looks like a bargain.

The Prince of Arabia would not be seen dead driving a black on black car across the Singing Sands Desert. Imagine the air-conditioner struggling to cope with 50C air temperature and an even higher sand temperature.

Even red would be a challenge.

On the matter of Lloyds auctions; I am not entirely convinced by their statement:

"As with all vehicles sold in the Classic Car Division, they have been well looked after by their previous owners. This is an Auction Sale. There is an inherent contradiction in that claim and a liberal dose of snake-oil in the sump.

This is just he normal "spiel" when cars are being auctioned off. It tells you a lot about nothing really and is all one could reasonably expect from an Auction House. It is a matter of buyer beware and hope to God that you haven't bought a brumby. Regards Styria

That 420SEL is better value than those cars with 250,000+ that the owners think are worth over $20k!

Just noticed these two W202 for sale both cars advertised with low kilometres.

I wonder if the value of the W202 C-Class 4cyl and V6 has potentially gone up perhaps due to COVID-19?

There are a few W126 sedans and coupes also advertised on Carsales varying in price which was interesting to see.

Mind you what someone advertised there car and what the car actually ends up selling for are two different things.

I know first hand and perhaps not alone in that experience?

I was going past my local european mechanic and this car is for sale. Deceased estate. I have no connection with the car other than spotting it and asking about it. Apparently it has recently had a lot of moneys spent on it. Its a 2003 or 2004 E500 W211. From what I gather I think a good deal could be done, but I don't know the asking price. If anyone is interested I can go back and get contact details of the owner.
