The Auction ended with the price still quite low. I can't remember the price but I think it was less than $2,000. I would imagine that there was a reserve, as I think a more realistic price is somewhere between $8-$14k

Agree. I think the price is more like for a car with less than 100k on it.
the car looks very nice, but i suspect a value around $18-25 is more reasonable.

Perhaps the ignition was retarded ? These DOHC engines perform very well when in proper tune. ie 36% BTC at mid thirties RPM .. Vacuum disconnected.

Yes the Australian version suffered a lot with the low compression and retarded ignition.

You can get over the 2nd, but not the first.

It’s amazing how cheap these are. And without some of the features that get very expensive to maintain such as SBC brakes, air suspension, ABC etc.
