I completely understand what you are saying.
NO topping.
We are going to France next year, so we will be sure to try the ice cream you have mentioned.
When Leanne & I were in Italy last, we had a gelato (home made small shops mainly when we could find them) every day for the entire 4 weeks.
We learned that the small shops that do not have the super gelato display windows are all home made and not commercially made for distribution to the big stores.
This is the difference.
