Interesting comparing the figures from automobile catalog. the 350SE 4 speed manual is slightly faster than a 450SE:

450SE A: 24.2

80-120km/h

350SE 4: 6.3

This is for 1975 models.

If this car is worth the money being asked for it, my Gleaming Beauty has got to be worth an extra ten grand on top of that. Look, I am just not sure, but the interior may well not be original. It almost looks like MB Tex. Also, whilst photography is less than precise, timber work, door trims seem in quite tired condition. Bodywork ? Your guess as good as mine, as that black vinyl seems to camouflage a number of deficiencies. This one is not for me. Regards Styria

My Brother is selling his 280CE. I used to own this car and I think he is asking a reasonable price for it. It recently had a rebuilt steering box put in, and when I had it I did the water pump and other misc stuff. Its a bit rough but could be nicer with a bit of work. I think it needs some brake work for rego. He's just bought a much newer BMW.

In my opinion, the four speed box fitted to Benzes round about 1969-1973 (as best as I know) is not particularly user friendly. The ratios are typical of the fifties and sixties, and a European relic from days gone by. I have had extensive use of a 280SE 1971 4 speed Coupe, and I found that first and second were low and closely grouped together, with a huge gap to third gear. The box itself was pleasant enough, but I often found myself hunting between second and third. Regards Styria

Aren't they just such beautiful cars - for the Shannons price of $5000.00 for a 1956 Vespa - and, you don't even get that Italian beauty hanging off the pillion with both legs dangling over the side. Regards Styria

It got sold to a guy in the Mercedes club. He had another one. Apparently he and his 19yr old daughter drive the cars. I saw it at the German day. It looked like they had started tidying it up.

This dealer is normally quite expensive, but this car is interesting and unique.
Where else are you going to find a manual 280E with a full leather interior and other options? Most manual W123 models you see are stripper models like 200's.

Headlights are wrong for a 280E, so it may have been in a minor front end prang.

Yes too expensive for my tastes and I’m not a fan of the colour, but this dealer always has very high prices listed. No idea if his stock acutually sells for the asking price. Very few cars sell for the asking price.

It does seem a desiresble w123 though with the manual trans, leather and high compression engine. All other w123 I’ve seen were mbtex or cloth.

There is a lot to be said for a yellow 123 wagon. Not sure about the price, but it is one of the nicer ones I've seen for a while.
