A little while ago Styria commented on a “Car Of The Week” thread about the misalignment and poor quality of the glove box on a later model car a W220 or C215 or later if memory serves me correctly.
My W220 was suffering the same issue, of a sagged left hand side of the glove box lid, but could be pushed up when locked for the alignment to be correct.
So while I had the glove box out.
Servicing these grotty cabin filters x 2
I saw this
Which is a twin fine tooth adjustment for the left hand hinge.
This wedge was removed for some reason and was not replaced.
I adjusted the height correctly and re inserted the wedge in between the tooth adjustment, which keeps the teeth firmly engaged.

Number 4 is the part in question.
Number 6 has the teeth on it, and the glovebox body has a spring loaded set of teeth the mate with these.
In case anyone is wondering what number 140 below is.
It is a pen holder that is inside the glove box lid you click open when the glove box lid drops down.
