The car I sold to the late Dr Bill was left outside to the elements and has now been sent to crusher and I believe a WA Mercedes club member is attempting to get his to run after sitting since his death . Person who helped take it to crusher wasn't happy when advised car had a brand new steering box fitted

I hope the other two W116's that WGB had found good homes, they were lovely and I would hate to see all work he put into them be all for nothing.

What a disgrace! Despite our best efforts it seems we were too late to save it & the stupid owners didn’t know its value

I am a little confused. What I know is that Bill had a standard 450SE/SEL, but nothing much was ever heard about that car during the course of Bill's membership on TK. Additionally, he also had an immaculate Astral Silver 6.9 with new black Seat Covers that Bill himself fitted to the car - I actually supplied him with those the Seat Covers that came from the States. I have reason to believe that this car was advertised for sale not all that long ago, with quite a substantial asking price. Surely, that's not the car that is subject of this thread. Therefore, the one mentioned herein - is that an additional 6.9 that was owned by Bill ? Maybe Motec has the answers to this. Regards Styria

I believe Bill bought Motecs old 6.9 so Bill had 2 cars. One was being sold as a genuine AMG & the other was sent to a wrecker where it was likely crushed. No idea why the wrecker didn’t at least part it out

Mark, thanks for that information. Perhaps Motec knows a bit more. I wonder also what was the fate of the 450 he had ? My understanding is/was that the 450 was the first 116 he owned, prior to getting his AMGized 6.9. Regards Styria
