Bad news.
Found a weep at the top neck of the radiator, after a coolant flush, and new coolant.

Better off to find it now than later, or with the next owner.
Good news.
New radiator going in on Saturday

Still going with the detailing.

Patrick, I have probably said it before, but I'll say it again. What a magnificent looking car - that interior is just absolutely divine. There really isn't anything not to like and, unless I am mistaken, I have also seen it on ebay. I will be very interested to see how you get on with the sale.

In your opinion, re you asking a fair price for the car, or is it at the upper end of the price range ? For this model in particular. You know, when one looks at what is on the market, Mercedes make a hell of a lot of sense. I am sorry that presently I am not a prospective buyer, but if my circumstance were a little different, I would probably just at the opportunity to buy your car. I think it's that good. I must admit having just returned to work and on semi light duties. I am becoming decent at washing cars.

Thanks for the kind words Styria.

I have had a good look at prices Australia wide.

There are some pre September 2002 going for $3-$5k, but are very sorry looking cars, neglected, badly maintained, rusty and not good colour combos and warning lights and faults galore.
Some other pre September (this is when the facelift took place) are very low k and rarely used examples for over $20k.

In my opinion, I’d rather more reasonable higher k’s as this will ensure all that could go wrong has, and has been repaired or replaced.

I had a mate who bought a very low K (49,000) 2010 (was 16 years old when he purchased it so averaged 3000 k’s a year) Mercedes SLK, and he thought he was the luckiest guy alive.
In fact it just kept failing, way out of warranty, and ended up costing him a fortune to fix, what would have been mainly warranty issues.

Rarely used cars fail more frequently.

Post September 2002 cars, can pull anything from $5k to $30k, but please remember, these are all sellers pricing, and what they will actually take/accept we may never know.

I could have put $12-$14k on this based on its interior and reasonable k’s, but I got it at a good price, and had all intentions of putting $9500.00 on it, considering all the work that has been done on it and keep it under that magical $10k price point, but the radiator put an end to that.
Thus the $10,900 which I think is good for a car under 200,000k’s, and it’s overall condition with nothing to do but drive it

Getting there was mostly just concentrating on get better. Been ups and downs finding out what I can and cannot do at present the same as eating.

I think your price is pretty reasonable for the car. If I didn't already have my 300SE as my daily it would be the sort of car I would be interested in.

But it has been fun that’s for sure.

I only use this when I use the iPad for viewing/uploading on the forum which unfortunately is most of the time.

I just don’t have time at work, and I travel so much my laptop just doesn’t come out during this time.

When using my laptop, sure I just pick the size of image I want and off we go.

But I can’t seem to do that on the iPad, I need an app.

This one is great to use, as it just uses a slider bar, nice and simple, but yes the watermark is there.

What did you have in mind mate?
