Can you tell us when and where?

Ummm - I can't precisely recall the year (although I do have dated photos in the attic) and I entered it in the MBCNSW Concours and Display day for you as I don't think you were a member at that time. We entered it as a 690SEL which caused the then MBC Committee to scratch their heads and want to argue that no such model existed. I recall telling one of them on the phone just to stand by and wait as clearly he did not know what he was talking about - and told him to wear sunglasses when it arrived.
John Skene was there and thought it a wonderful car.
Now when was that and where was it........
It must have been 2006 I think .. or maybe even 2005?
DOB syndrome defeats me.

PS: I think it was 17/9/06 at Fox Studios. I have print film from then but need to dig into the attic to find it.

A gentle bump to an old post.
My decision is final

The Red Terror will have to go.

I will be travelling for the next month or so and a lot more during the year.
I simply don't have the time to even care for the poor girl.

It will be put up for sale on public websites (Gumtree, etc.) by late April.

However, members here can contact me privately.
I will have it cleaned, buffed, polished, detailed and touched up in the paint where required.
You can have it with the chromies or the original 6.5" bundts or the coloured bundts.

For the price... I am open to offers..

Detailed Buffed, Etc. Do you have Jerry do this? Our C Class could do with a general spruce up after 7 years. It is not bad but starting to look a bit tired even with only 56Ks on the clock.

He could also do your car at a very decent price..

Good luck with the sale. My view, the buyer should take it with the colour coded Bundt's. Or have Jerry do a set of colour coded pentas.

For some reason, Bryce, that doesn't appear to happen. One 6.9 owner (in Sydney) joined, but hasn't contributed since joining. Ofontenay sold his 6.9 to Melbourne interests (I believe), but nothing further known. Then there was BenzBoy"s 450SE that went to Maitland (via abl567), then we have Chris that went to WA with his Astral Silver 6.9 that I have lost trace of. Ah well, c'est la vie. Regards Styria

Gentlemen...

Look at it this way, even if the 690SEL is sold and the new owner does not join, I won't be going away.
This group is still and will be part of my life as long as we have lovely people involved.
Not to mention I won't be the first one who has done that. BenzBoy is still here.

Indeed, putting the Bundts back on and the original Becker radio is the beginning.
I’ll be fitting the original steering wheel back on as well as painting the sills in black stoneguard-type paint.
