Styria - servicing is inexpensive. Parts are very reasonable.
For example: $450 for a window switch set of 4 switches for the ML; $199 for the 306GTi6. Both items fitted.
It is only the cars up to 1990 that have some parts difficult to obtain.
If I needed another car I would snap up this one as I know it has been very well looked after. These diesel engines run a big mileage before they give any issues.
Regards,
Brian

I have not followed up this car lately. The owner did say that the timing belt needed replacement, and there was also a front tyre issue - requiring "soon" replacement. Did some looking up on the net regarding reliability issues, if any, and I have to say that there appear to be some problem areas, particularly as far as the engine is concerned. Regards Styria

Patrick, twenty five thousand. Again I say "what an impressive looking car". I am a real lover for many of the Buick, and indeed, the Chrysler models. . One car that stands out for me also is an Oldsmobile 98 that I saw at Eastern Creek. It was for sale, about a hundred grand and it was the colour that appeals to me - cream. See this website colour scheme ! Styria

Spotted this gem today near my place at Cecil Hills.
As usual, with a car close to me, anyone interested I am happy to check it out.

Seems very clean, zero rust, and just a couple of scrapes on each front guard as per the pics.

Not an over the top asking price either.

Maybe so, but to bring this car up to speed (and to correct the seller's spelling) would be more than a smelly old diesel is worth. Sorry folks, this car fails totally to excite any cells in my body.
If this was a DS then it would be worth the effort, but it's not...
Regards,
Brian

I’m with you Brian,

Not my cup of tea, in any way shape or form.

But,
Any old Merc (or any older car of interest) I come across, I will always post, and offer to check it out, it may be someone else’s cup of tea, but not yours or mine mate :D

Patrick - I'm having a grumpy day! Still, I would rather spend this kind of money on a Corolla - or better still, a Peugeot and have something that is more fun.

Brian

Well Brian, that is no good on a Friday.

I do hope it gets better, and that you have a terrific relaxing evening and weekend.
I do hope some type of exciting car will be involved.

Yes,
I could think of many other cars to spend that kind of money on mate.

The days of getting a DS that you would actually want for this sort of money are long past, but this one is quite nice and I think the price is fair:

https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1971-citroen-d-special-manual/SSE-AD-6277753/?Cr=2

It's not perfect but looks nice - on the plus side the seats have been retrimmed in velours instead of the vinyl most D Special's came with, a clock has been added, kph speedo, reversing lights fitted. On the minus side the C pillar trims are pallas type which don't match the b pillar trims. the rear badge is wrong too.
