[Styria]

I spotted this Rolls Royce (I think that's its official title) built in collaboration with British Leyland, but sporting the Rolls Royce 4 litre overhead inlet/side exhaust valve engine. Never a car that attracted particular attention or following, it is nevertheless a vey nice British car of the '60s.

This particular example - you just have to look at that colour combination ! Shades of TK home and forum pages to some degree. Regards Styria

I think this is technically a Vanden Plas Princess.

Collaboration between RR and BMC at the time. I suspect it would have been somewhat of a competitor to your Rover 3 liter.

Hi C107, you're spot on with the name. When I typed Rolls Royce, I instinctively had the feeling that I wasn't right, but do you think I could recall its exact title - no way in the world.

Not sure how the Rover 3 litres fared against the Princess - I tend to think that the interior, being BMC or British Leyland, just didn't quite have the quality of the Rover interiors. Anyway, I am not all that certain about this and that - if you know what I mean. Regards Styria

The seller is claiming that it is a 'rare' Obsidian Black, when that colour didn't exist until the 90s was never offered on any W126. This car is obviously in 199 Blue/Black Metallic, probably the most common colour for the 560SEC.

Obvious falsehoods like this make me suspicious of the car and seller...

I saw this car parked this week, and it looks like a nice driver quality car. Probably slightly overpriced, but not drastically.

The SLC looks to have a decent rust patch on the left hand fron wing next to the bonnet. If its showing up there, I would suspect there is a lot of other hidden rust in that car... Especially with the cheap respray its had.

That rear screen rust in the 116 also looks quite concerning, although more likely to be isolated.
