This low mileage 560SEC looks nice. Terrible ad though, no mention of sevice history or anything that would prove the low miles.

there are some signs like the needles on the instrument cluster still being orange and the interior that would make you think it might be true, but I would not pay top dollar unless the service book was present:

This E220 Coupe is unsual for an auction car in that it has a full service history.

the E220 is very economical, but I found the sedan version my dad had at one point rather sluggish. Love the colour, don't like the aftermarket chrome wheel arch trims.

Its amazing to see how some people can neglect such a high end (and valuable) car that it can get this dilapidated. This isn't some cheap runabout A class, a 500SL 107 was always worth good money even at the bottom of its depreciation curve....

Its been a while since I have seen such a nice one.

My sister had a 1984 240GLE, in a green colour that was a bit like the thistle green that Mercedes offered at the time. I had a 1985 230E mercedes at the time. The Volvo had a torquier engine and was a little faster (being lighter) but the mercedes was far more refined, nicer to drive and better appointed.

The Mercedes, of course was equipped with MBTex which is indestructible, but the Volvo velours of the 80s might have been even more so.

the volvo was more troublesome too, needed a new (used engine). I taught my brother to drive in the volvo, and since it would stall if you tried to turn the wheel too much with the car stationary, it was quite a good teacher of not to move the wheel too much with the car stationary.

later the SAS ran into the side of the car and paid my sister out. she drove the car for another year with a non functional rear door.

The Classic Throttle Shop has to pay exorbitant rent in North Sydney and has to make a 'serious' profit from what it sells.
The CEs are not a hot seller anyway.
My two cents worth...

It's a hell of a lot of money for a car with more than 200k (km) on it.
Would need to be less than 100k (IMHO) to justify such a price.
