I think very special cars are still getting good money - hence the A124 did well for example. The A124 is such a low production car and the 320 is really appreciated by collectors, especially in a good colour like that.Seems inconsistent since some sold for a decent price yet others were flat. Is this the sole way they do business now or is there in person auctions available??
On inflation I must admit I have no idea. I can’t see how someone buying a new TV might affect the price of energy or groceries! Perhaps I should start another post....
6.9s have dropped in value as so much is NLA, most Benz buyers are scared of them. Plus the car on offer was a terrible example that has been shopped around to 3 other auction sites over the last year. I am surprised it bid up to what it did, as at 18k you have to spend 100k to put it right or buy an ok 6.9 for 35 or a very nice one for 50.....
On the topic of the outage in particular, because it was the main website, savvy buyers could still get to lots via direct link, so it impacted some percentage of people, not all. It also impacted lots later in the order more, as it went down at about quarter past six, so if you were already logged into the site it never impacted you - its if you wanted to come later.
