My comments relate purely to the 450's - the Sedans. The blue car is certainly way overpriced, and I agree with C107 as in regards to the condition of the interior. I can't be sure, but it would not surprise me if the car is owned by a dentist in the Port Macquarie area. If it is the person I am thinking of, I met him probably about fifteen years ago, and he was certainly a man that I did not see eye to eye with. Initially, I thought that the car was a 6.9 that was owned by Ofontenay because the likeness between the two cars is remarkable. That 6.9 is now in Victoria, with Ofontenay having sold it for $16K.

The car with the additional pictures supplied to Patrick is simply a woeful car - it's certainly one I would not touch under any circumstances. Just so many things so unpleasant to the eye - I just wouldn't want it no matter what.

I guess here I go again being super critical (?) - sorry, that's the way I see it. When I compare those cars to what I know of 116s, and if I compare with my "Gleaming Beauty", I just shake my head. I feel sorry for any prospectiove purchaser. Regards Styria

I bought a 320 as well, but it's a W140 long wheel base. Late one - 1997 build, 1998 model year.

And a S350 W220 and another C107 - this time a 350.

That 350 doesn't look bad. Is it in good mechanical condition? Still have the 450's?

Yes, still got everything - except the VW Passat. Sold that to buy the W220 as a daily. Just drove it to Brisbane and back. Averaged 8.5lt/100km over the return journey. How things have changed !

Yes, I must admit that it made the trip pretty comfortable, considering it is a 17 year old car. Stopped once each way for 15 minutes to top up the fuel.

That 6.9 that sold at shannons for 66k a while back is for sale again, on carsales for 32k. That price seems far more in line with that they actually sell for. It looks like a nice car.

Given that owner would have spent money on the car, they have sure taken a bath on it.

It's quite remarkable that this 6.9 has come up for sale again. Little is known of its owner to me except perhaps that he is a restauranteur somewhere in Sydney and drove the car like a man possessed ! So the story goes. Someone on TLK may perhaps wish to elaborate further.

I've had no involvement with the car other than supply a rebuilt water pump. They are not a cheap item. I also know that the owner spent a fortune on those beautiful 17" (?) rims with the appropriate tyres. I know that the car had been resprayed and that the interior was going to be one of the next few items that the owner wanted to spend money on. Obviously, the loss of depreciated money cannot be of any concern to the owner - in my opinion the car owed him close enough to ninety grand, give or take a few cents here and there.

It was hard to look for justification when considering the auction price and the condition of the car at the time. Who knows - I am led to believe that it was the colour that clinched the huge sale price - it was said that he had another , possibly 116, of the same colour and was looking for a sister car.

It is my opinion that the car has been well and expertly maintained, and any purchaser would acquire a car that could well appreciate in value from the estimated price range. Regards Styria
