Yes Bryce, I am in the same boat as yourself - really too many cars still to be completed, many still to be attended to in one form or another. Even Gleaming Beauty is in need of some attention, although she is still a beautiful driver. However, a bad hydraulic leak from the right rear high pressure hose is messing up the concrete floor, and there is also a constant slow leak from the rear height adjustment valve plus a couple of other slight, yet annoying oil leaks.

That is part of the reason why I purchased a fairly new car (by my standards) in order to tidy me over with some forthcoming mechanical issues on the 6.9, plus I still have my 450SE to be completed. Otherwise, I would have bought Anthony's car in a flash. Regards Styria

Still for sale, I've now listed the 450 on carsales.com.au, seems the now disinterested party was advised that servicing was $2500 per year! And that the car has had a full respray!.
Independent parties provided him this advice, it did not come from anyone involved in the vehicle

And neither of these claims: $2500 per year servicing and a full respray are correct. I know!

Yes, the joys of selling cars ! We had one recently that made an offer on a $650 parts car. They offered $500, which was accepted and when told to put the money in the bank and they could pick it up when cleared, they said that didn't give them any leverage ! WTF ! For a $500 car, they still wanted to re-negotiate the price when they came to pay. No thanks.

I would have sworn that there was no way that Daz (the prospective buyer) would ever consider not going ahead with the purchase.....and for him to drop out in the manner in which he did defied all descriptions. Well I've had little further interest and have decided to be serious about finding a new home for the 450SE.

I'm dropping the asking price to $5900 and will entertain near offers.

This gem is still for sale, I will advertise in the public domain this week or early next for $8000 ono, I'll let it go for $7500 to anyone referred through TK

For the life of me I will never understand why Cars without a Roof will sell for 10, 20 times Anthony's asking price. And not in the ball park engineering and build quality wise.

Yes I know to my cost that selling Cars is A.P.I.T.A. Two years to sell my SL 107. A near perfect car, but tyre Kickers expected a new Car without a blemish after 35 years on the Road. Eventually a genuine buyer turned up who had been looking for over 12 months. Maybe the Days of older Classic Cars are shortening. New Car are very cheap and require little maintenance, as long as long as Dealers are avoided, except for Warranty, which they are obliged to honour. I guess we have entered a different era in today's World.

Sean, I certainly cannot provide a solution as to why some cars simply don't sell. I guess the 450s are somewhat overshadowed by 6.9s from a desirability point of view, and certainly spare parts prices and the cost of labour don't help. On the net, I see a number of 450s with substantial asking prices. Whether or not they sell one doesn't know. At the moment also one of the Club members is advertising his 280SE or L (not sure which) and he has dropped his price from $20K. to now $12K. and that car is like new.

I guess Anthony will just have to hang in for the long run. Regards. Styria

The 450SE has finally sold, via the carsales add, and has gone to live in Singleton. The new owner intends to use it as a weekend cruiser and has promised not to mess with it
