    Car of the week

Most of the Mercedes on offer are terrible, except this one. Its not a popular colour scheme, but it looks really original down to the AM only Becker, and being D-Jet offers sprightly performance:

    Babe for sale

Yes it’s been up for ages At this price. Looks like they are trying to imply it’s a real AMG.

    Patrick's W220 S430

My wife has an 07 E350 wagon and the transmission has never been touched to my knoweldge. Plenty of other issues with various sensors and the the balancer shaft issues, which exist outside the published range of engines. But the transmission has 195,000km on it with no issues. I also...

    Patrick's W220 S430

Personally I would go with the update. The seven speed is a huge improvement and they sorted out a lot of issues with these cars as time progressed.

    Red Bull (5541)

If they are genuine period correct AMGs then that might work, but if they are more modern, I think you get more for Mercedes when they are stock and unmodified.

    Progress....

Big decision! The biggest part of the enjoyment of owning these cars is using them as the engineers who designed them intended, so I can totally understanding cutting the fleet down to a manageable size. That said, are you sure you want to not have a single 6.9 in your fleet? As you've been...

    [JT] Small displacement Rover P5s

Thanks to a response to this post when it was shared to another page (British Leyland Chronicles), I can now add a little more about the 2.4-litre cars. There certainly was a sales brochure for them, issued by the Aulehla company and essentially the same as the 1962 MkIA 3-litre type but...

    [JT] Small displacement Rover P5s

This article is reposted from James Taylor's Facebook feed. He originally covered this topic in his excellent P5 book, which is highly recommended for anyone interested in Rovers or British cars. https://www.facebook.com/james.t.roverphile One of the things I have always found interesting...

Old time radios with modern technology

Thanks, I have been watching this guy on facebook for a while. It you wouldn't mind posting your impressions of the radio as you use it over time, would be really helpful. Can you use any of the buttons to advance the track via bluetooth or answer a call?

    6.9 Hydropneumatic Suspension

From what I read of period reviews, they made very minor changes to make it legally ambiguous and then used the fact that citroen were in dire financial issues at the time and not really in much of a position to mount a challenge.

    1980 6.9 with ABS

I've never seen anywhere that ABS was offered on aussie W116s. I've seen two UK import cars with ABS for sale, but never an aussie car. A guy on facebook once said it was available, but never offered any evidence.

    1983 500SL

Great build. Interestingly the factory originally chose a 2,82 ratio for the 500 but then moved to the tall gearing after the energy crisis.
