wanted 560 twin air cleaner

Hi I was wondering if any one has a Twin Snorkel 560 air cleaner they would be willing to sell. Please

Geoff, I would imagine that you would want it for the 6.9, right ? You are probably aware of this, but it will not be easy to accommodate it under the 6.9 bonnet/arrangement. You will have a problem on the right hand side where the battery is located, and you would have to relocate that unit to the boot of the car. Probably not such a bad move, but takes a bit of work - if you're doing it properly. Additional, there is hardly any space at the front of the engine unlike the 126 models that are bodied in such manner as to allow the intake snorkels to be fitted alongside and in front of the radiator to accept the fresh air. Hi Styria yes I want it for the 6.9 as I have stated air needs complete rebuild. So lines may as well be moved while fixing . That just leaves battery and tubing . But thinking off solution.

I have just one and I think I'll need it! The 560 snorkels aren't symmetrical and they're plastic and aluminum which is harder to work with....

Why not modify the original since it's the same as a standard 450 unit anyway? I'd open up both sides towards the front where it can draw more air. And being steel you could then have it chrome plated!!

.....but that wouldn't it be like Mr. MB intended ! Seriously Mark, none of the options, such as they are, would be easy to implement. SEL69L would be able to illustrate one particular solution (!), but it'd be best to evaluate it, providing he is prepared to show a picture of his installation. Regards Styria

I think MBHQ needed to do more to make the 6.9 more distinguishable from it's brothers and a scoop or two would be a great way to do it! Back in the 70s MB obviously weren't that interested in making performance obvious, but today it's a different story with AMG an integral part of the company.

And I think someone with a two-tone 6.9 agrees it's important to be more distinguished than cattle class!

Hi mark was thinking of fitting a pair off Alloy XA GT bonnet scoops I own when car is painted. As I recon they would look great painted black on the bonnet.

Going to seeing as my air needs replacement as I have said moving line is not a problem when you have to replace it as it has not worked in almost or over 20 years.
