Pics from today..

Scruitneering was the payoff of all the work completed on the car to prepare it.
They did a quick check over, and signed off straight away.

Only did Masters Class today (3 laps at 3/4 pace behind a pace car to instruct the lines/apex of each corner).

Hook into practise and events tomorrow.

Some other interesting entrants also..... However, there is not a single other Benz at the event.

Hi Cam, do you mean to say that you are there on your own ? No mates, no girlfriend, no one to encourage and help you ? If that's the case, my sympathies go out to you - it can be pretty lonely outthere - never mind anyone else taking part on the day as I am sure everyone has their own problems.

Obviously, I really hope that you go well and that your 6.9 is going to stand up to the rigors of the competition. I am really interested and curious as to how the engine performs, and how the handling stacks up in corners, braking etc. and to see if it is a better car to drive when compared with your 450. Thank you too for the photos - some very interesting machinery on hand taking part. Regards Styria

Thanks Fella's.. No Styria, not completely on my own. We have 3 teams from the Hillclimb club entered, 6 cars in each team. A couple of which are my mates. Girlfriend and her midgets in towe also. Was just commenting on the field of cars, the only Benz. Out of a field of about 800+ cars for the weekend, only 1 benz.

On the absence of Mercs - that is odd, you'd expect at least some CUBs with a recent AMG somethingorother there. Then again, do CUBs know about AMG? What about that guy that got caught recently doing 219 or whatever it was in an AMG. Maybe he no longer has his car (or license).

Thanks for all the comments.. finally got round to uploading the remaining pics (about 190 more). Video to come soon.

Not restricted on speed at all Michel. Only restriction was the 450 diff I have installed (3.07:1) so my top speed was only about 210 at redline (maybe more, but I was too sh!tscared to look at my speedo just before entering the chase).
Already arranged for different gearing for next year.

Uploaded about 190 more pics, also plenty from the wet session where I took to drifting cause there was no point going times - no entertainment in that.

Also, Irony would have it that the apartment we were staing in at Bathurst motor in... the guys staying next door had selected a great towe vehicle.. Rob has purchased Jammer's old 6.9. And was towing his Alfa race car. I couldn't believe that of all places that could be booked for accomodation in bathurst, the townhouse right next door had a 2nd 6.9 parked. F*kn small world ay.. .
