It is quite obvious that local, short distance journeys will be an ideal form of propulsion, and at this stage it is only the significant additional cost that would represent an insurmountable hurdle - certainly as applicable to myself. Long Distance travel represents an entirely different issue on account of the sheer number of charging stations that would be required, plus the time it would take to "fill up" and the number of vehicles that would seek to replenish their electricity. Australia is a big country, and there are many cars using highways on a daily basis. If you purchase petrol, you're up and away in next to no time, but if you are required to sit idly for two hours, with probably dozens of cars lined up, the picture would change.
