I would appreciate any advice in regards to the scuff plate in the C220 judging from the photos could the scuff plate be repaired?

Cheers guys.

What’s wrong with it Tim?
Is it delaminating?

It is just a thin film that is lifting.
You might try heating it with a hair dryer and then running a finger down it with pressure to see if you can re-stick it into place.
Otherwise carefully peel off and reglue with a very thin but even layer of contact adhesive glue.
I'm not sure either will be successful and if not, then the option is a new trim piece from Benz.
Regards,
Brian

Hello guys thanks for the advice in regards to the scuff plate.

After speaking to Tom at the MB Classic Centre California a new scuff plate will cost $42.50 US including postage.

Rego is due for renewal next week.

Just had the fuel pressure valve replaced with a new Bosch valve and the air conditioning pressure tested no leaks and re-gassed nice and cold just in time for summer!

The C220 now has all new tyres Michelin 195/65 15” running on 34psi.

Polished all of the wood trim veneer panels just by using good old AutoGlym super resin polish.

Really happy with the C220 easy car to park and terrific to get around busy Newcastle.

Don’t think I will go to this years Concourse maybe next year.

Anyhow good to chat to you guys.

Cheers Tim.

Tim, go for the new scuff plate. So much more effective than trying to re-stick the foil.
Wise choice with the Michelin. I run Michelin on both the ML and the Peugeot and am happy with the consistent results I get from them.

Brian

Maybe Mercedes have turned over a new leaf.. I purchased a bonnet steady spring assembly for $20 !!! for a C Class W204. There are two mounted in the bonnet to pop it up when released from inside the car.
