Tony doesn't frequent these pages anymore, pity that...

I beg to differ Ant.
He is still around, checking and reading posts.
His last activity was November 25 2013

.....thanks guys for the kind and appreciative belated Christmas messages - it's so easy to criticize, but harder to be pro-active ! Regards Styria

Tony, are you there ?

When I removed the car radio & passed the car over you, I forgot to remove the power line to the radio. It hung out of the gap in the console where the radio should be, & has a rectangular hollow plastic terminal on the end.

When I came to install it in my 300SEL recently ( clocked up 165,000 k now ) the car radio man advised me that I need the original wire, hence my question is, do you still have the wire, & if you are not using it, could you return it to me please ?

I have not been on the site for a few months, so seasons greetings to all.

I am still able to have the occasional G & T.

Regards,

Alex

Alex, just came in on the back of this conversation, I saw you are in Toorak, me too (Washington Street). Happy to have a W116/126 get together locally if you like! Regards, Carl.

Dear Carl,

As I have said before, since I disposed of my beloved 450SEL to Tony, I rarely visit the site, hence my delay in replying.

Does anyone know where I can buy the old style windscreen sunvisor ?

Even on a nice day, the sun that comes through the 300SEL wind screen will fry you, & I am a bit too old to fry !!

It is a bit sad when people drop off a forum, because most people can contribute to some topic or other.

I myself have been banned for life from the "Practical Machinist" site in the U.S.of A. because I dared to accuse the moderator of having rules for himself, but would jump on newbies who trangressed the so called O.T. ( Other topics ) rules when the main topics should be about " Machines & machine shop practice "

Many of the legal O.T. that I got involved in was for the design of craneage & structural beams in the workshop, but when the moderator had an O.T. for a recipe for pecans, I could not restrain myself !!

By the way I live at 41 Evans Court Toorak.

Regards,

Alex
