A really informative video regarding the nuts and bolts of being able to own and maintain what is essentially a very desirable, and luxurious Motor Car. I think the guy is spot on in most respects, very enlightening. The only aspect of the video rather hi-filuting relates to his story regarding the ladies that fall head over heels for him and his Rolls Royce. A bit far fetched. Regards Styria

I have to admit Styria, my Rolls-Royce was the most satisfying car I have ever owned.
Even just seeing it in the garage made my day.

I miss it very much.

If I recall correctly, Michel did have some issues with his car that did involve him in some significant expenses. Maybe he is able to elaborate. Speaking of Rolls Royce ownership and also a comparison with a 6.9, a client of mine has the same model as BenzBoy's, plus quite a beautiful ex John Laws white 6.9, and he has ventured the opinion that ownership of the 6.9 has been far more costly than his Rolls Royce.

I remember first meeting him when he drove his 6.9 from out Windsor way to Glenhaven with five defective Air Cells. He didn't even know what the problem was except to say that the car was almost undrivable. " Are they all like that" was his question. Regards Styria

We have had the Silver Spirit II now for 13 years now and it has been reliable and trouble free. Yes, there was some sorting out when we bought it: we rebuilt the fuel head and had the main computer replaced ($400 for the computer) and re-bushed the front suspension, replaced tappet cover seals etc. but since then it has been only maintenance items. The previous owner had maintained regular oil and radiator fluid changes so that was a bonus. I did replace the radiator a year or so back but that was an easy job and not expensive - there is plenty of room to move in the engine bay. Last year I replace the aircon compressor but since is a Japanese compressor that was a simple job and the main cost was for the compressor itself rather than time in changing the unit.
You know the old story - if you can see the ground when you look at the top of the engine then maintenance will be OK.
All service items are easily available and the prices are very reasonable. Trim parts are readily available but they are expensive.
Regards,
Brian
