Another question.... can I sand Blast the Alloys, they are very grubby and would take ages to clean by hand ????? I understand that Sand can be had in various Grades ie ..Fine
 The alloys always had a rough finish , were never smooth.

To answer my own question.... apparently Paint stripper is the way to go. Then a bit of elbow grease with a scratch Pad and Sugar Soap..... etc.:)

SEAN,
If the alloys are rough, it probably means they were never painted.
If there is clear on them it means they would normally be smooth.

Are you sure there is paint on them and not just years of dirt and grime?
In that case a gerni would do the job with the help of lots of degreaser.

And if you want them painted nicely, contact Jerry, I'm sure he'll do you a good deal! :)

Yes Michel you are right about the finish, Our C200 has nice shiny alloys, where as the C250 has a slightly rough finish.. Were they always like that or did someone lightly sand blast them ? .They are not too bad,:) but attract brake dust much easier even with the low dust pads.

I cleaned and sanded the Alloys then repainted with a Spray Pac. Standing back they look ok , but not too close ! I read that applying Clear Coat may not be advisable as it Yellows. Is this long term or short ?
How long is a piece of string ?

Sean, from my experience I have always found that a pressure pack paint application is really a waste of time and effort - unless, of course, you have special two pack paint mixed up for you by some of the Paint Companies.

Your pressure pack job will simply deteriorate from day one. Two pack is the only way to go. Regards. Styria

I have to agree with The Godfather.
Better still, have them professionally done.

Since you've made so much money from the CBA shares, why don't you get those paint jobs done professionally and enjoy the look of your cars, rather than curse them every time you look at the poor job done!

Michel is spot on Sean.

If your tyres are old, when you get your rims done, treat them to 4 new tyres, and it will give your car an instant face lift.
