I thought it's time to start a new thread, rather than continue with the 'comparison one'.
Here are a few pics.

Here are two pics where the car needs a bit of work.
Nothing that Jerry can't attend to!
However, I'm looking for a few bits and pieces.
The mould on the lower part of the front driver side guard.

And I also need a bracket to hold the front bumper.
It's a small one that keeps the side upright.

And I also need both front seat control knobs and backing plates (both front doors).

Are you sure yours are this type? Would be unusual for a 380SE to have the memory seats and if it did even more unusual for the passengers side to have it too.
I just downloaded this pic from the net.
I need to look again at the doors. But there's something definitely missing.

Looking at the data card, you need the regular switch, not the memory one. Regular one looks the same but doesn't have the 1 and 2 buttons.

There is one complication, early W126's didn't have pluggable switches, they were hard wired. I can't remember if 82 is in that category, but I can check in my 126 book. I think the recommended fix is to splice in the plugs, but you could just do it wire by wire.

So, you’re right, no memory.
And I just bought a new battery for it ($280).
So, on Monday, my electrician is going to have a go at starting it.

And maybe a Jaguar X330?
You would have known about that Patrick.
As much as I love that shape, I simply had cold feet about it. 😳

I gather that Michel also has a W140. Have we seen this?
Regards,
Brian
The W140 is a pain in the backside.
Everything and I mean EVERYTHING has a module… 🤬
I gave up… I’ll be selling it soon with a new paint job.

Couldn't find it in the book, but my reccolection is that it was 1984 that the switches were changed from hard wired, to plug in. Of course, your car may have already been modified, you could remove the door trims and look.

Interesting that one of your switches has a headrest button and one doesn't I could be wrong, but I don't think that is correct for your car and came after the plug in switches arrived - so that one may have already been modified.

I may have one of the switches from my parts car, but it won't be ready for a bit as i need them working to move the seats to make them easier to remove. Its a non memory switch, but with headrest control being from an 87 420.
