No name yet, but I’m working on it!! Suggestions?? Sadly the original 220kW engine has been replaced (with a low comp version), so I figure why not fit a M119?? Badly neglected by previous owners so there’s lots of work ahead... I never thought I’d fall for a 560SEC coupe, but why live in denial??? Lucky I have some 17” 3 piece AMG Aero II wheels put aside!

Did they at least retain the tri-y headers and better oil cooler?
You'll presumably still have the better 2.65 rear end too.

And the coupes were beautifully designed.

Yes they’re a great design being a 2 door, but also a S Class with heaps of space, so definitely a keeper! It does still have the tri ys fitted which is a big plus. I’ll have to confirm that the trans & diff are original but I’d be very surprised if they’ve been changed.

The seat heaters and factory alarm are very cool options, but odd it doesn’t have an adjustable steering column or airbag. The tow guy mentioned the left rear wheel has excessive camber compared to the right so I’m hoping nothing major is bent, broken or corroded in the rear. Closer inspection will reveal all hopefully!

My 87 UK spec doesn't have an airbag either. It was one of the few mainstream production options that wasn't standard on the 560.

I always thought the adjustable steering column was standard on the 560. I have it and its not listed as an option code. I wonder if this is a model year thing.

She really was a mess!! All vacuumed up now & awaiting a full pressure wash after an oil & filter change. 16” AMGs recently fitted with aftermarket revised wheel bolts, but the wheels probably won’t be my final choice.

really like the wheels. You mentioned their not final - what is your eventual wheel combo on this car?

Just noticed your engine has the trimmer plug from the high comp engine so you can probably advance the timing a bit and get more performance out of it.

With the tri-ys etc I would expect you're probably at around 270hp ish assuming a healthy engine, although would be lower if the car needs valve guides etc.

I have a set of 17” Oz Aero 3 piece wheels, but they need a lot of work ($) before they’d be good enough to fit!

270hp isn’t too bad so we’ll see if I can get it running. The FD was removed by the PO for some reason & he didn’t know what he was doing so it might be a challenge.

Ultimately I have a M119 lined up for this car....
