Merc 6.9 Euro idler pulley and bracket

Hi, has anyone have for sale an A/C idler pulley and bracket (carrier) to suit 6.9 Euro engine? Car was purchased without this so never had the aircon operational. Also any info on where to purchase new aircon compressor if original compressor does not work correctly. Thanks.

According to the 1977 data book the compressor is the same as other V8 models from the era. Under the covers its a GM A6 with metric fittings.

There are now reproduction A6's available such as this one:

You would need to double check fitting but I put something similar on my 450SLC and was happy with it.

Styria may be able to help with the pully etc.

Thank you Bryce for the info, will purchase a new one if required. Still need to purchase idler pulley bracket. Maybe someone is parting out an 6.9 Euro engine. Thanks

It seems that I need idler pulley and tensioner from 6.9 Euro engine.Does anyone have for sale or is there any other model Merc with the same pulley and tensioner. I have nothing to compare with. Any photo of pulley assembly would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you know that this is unique to the euro engine? If its shared with the aussie one or even the 450 might be easier to find.

Does not share with the 4.5Litre engine. The Aussie 6.9 has the auto trans pump as part of the idler pulley and a different adjustment system so I would rather not modify it to fit the Euro engine. The Euro engine has a simple tensioner and pulley. Thanks for your comments.

I have been in touch with Colin and have actually been able to locate a pulley and adjustment bracket for him. Luckily enough, as a result of moving all of my cars and parts to Seven Hills, it has been easier to locate the parts he needed. It's good to be able to help him. Regards Styria
