Just how rare is white MB tex?

By white I guess you mean WHITE not parchment?

Yeah, it's more white than parchment. Just purchased it today, 1972 450SE , but haven't brought it home to decode the plate on core support.

Things like colour options seem to vary from market to market depending on what the prevailing tastes were. I think nearly all the 123s/116's I've seen pictures of with white interiors were US market.

Well I guess you were right. At night time and with the interior light it sure looks white.

PS, need a passenger side headrest in parchment.

That's actually a clean looking example. I quite like the very early dashes that have the horizontal groove in the woodwork.

From the picture, it looks more like parchment than white, with sewn seams rather than welded ones. Were welded seams used on the 'lesser' engined cars only?
The car also has a couple of details which i find charming, the stepped wood on the dash and the little chromed trim on the wheel.
My Lady Genevieve has parchment MB-tex, and I once saw a black 280SE in Campinas (owned by a German) with white leather. The difference is huge.

Yeah, it's parchment. I haven't had much time to really get to know it yet, much less clean it up. Maybe tomorrow, if weather and time allows.

Parchment is a nice colour, but IMO you can't beat white leather

That has to be one of my favourite car colours, along with dark green and blue.

A beautiful combo, and embellishers do suit the W116 more than alloys...IMHO!

I like this red exterior (571)Brilliant Red alright, but I'm still more in favor for Signal Red (568) or Orient Red (501). I just cleaned her up but forgot my camera at work, so fresh pics ASAP.

Hi Nutz, that's quite a smashing looking car - very attractive and body wise seems in nice condition.

That stepped timber on the dash and glove box...hmm, very nice, isn't it ? I have a set for sale, in good condition. I have just taken it off a dash I bought a long time ago and that I have now fitted to my 450 sitting in my back yard. That's another story, and another car for sale - eventually. Regards Styria

Styria: Pics, please? My Crayford has the stepped dash wood, and the piece at the driver's end (near the light switch) has been butchered by the insertion of a green idiot light (for no known purpose). It is very pale timber compared with that in other W116s.

How much are you wanting for the set?

Parchment MB Tex is pretty common in Australia - especially in W123's. Here is a photo of my 280CE

Parchment is quite common and a pleasant colour but what about the white one sometimes sees, especially in the 280SE version? I have only seen the white in MB-Tex and it has always looked like it needed a good scrub with Domestos.
