Head up display and polarised sunglasses

I drove an A class sedan (new) recently, with HUD on the windscreen. Only problem was, with S-polarising sunglasses on, you can't see the display.

The problem can be solved if the screen manufacturer incorporates a layer of 3M film (or equivalent) that alters the reflective properties of the screen and the reflected lightwaves. MB hasn't done this on this model, removing so much of the HUD utility.

I’ve noticed it harder to read the screen of my phone in its holder when wearing sunglasses. Perhaps something similar.

Hmmmm, I don't seem to have that problem. Be it HUD in test cars or my iPhone

Which grade of polarising lenses do you have, Michel? Not all grades cause this "problem".

I have a set of spec saver 'old age' glasses: multi focal, transitional and polarised.
Didn't know there we levels or polarisation in glasses.
