Thank you Patrick and Benz Boy.
I actually got a few bits with the car,in the bits were two broken front door locks different parts on each lock were broken so I made one out of two.
I did not remove the lock barrel so I still have the option of restoring the lock barrel to normal operation.Thanks to various contributions to my post I know a lot more about these locks and can approach the task with more confidence.
For the time being I am happy to leave it as it is.
