Talking about cars for sale I did hear on the John Laws radio show today that there is a 1977 Holden Torana going up for auction and the price is $1 million even John Laws was shocked by the price!

I really like this SLC

Its a private import, but not sure where from. It looks very well looked after, so perhaps Japan? If that is the case, good for condition, not so good for the very detuned motors they got there. Other countries will have the high compression motor, or the mid range one like we got.

This is a tale of two 1979 6.9s, both Aussie delivery, both in nice shape.

They are both up at the lloyds auction.

The first is 6132 a 12/79 complianced model:

The second is 6032, also 12/79

Only 100 cars apart and both for sale at the same time.

I would have the blue one, mostly because it seems in slightly better shape and I much prefer the colour.
6132 is back up on Lloyds so I guess it passed in last time:

At this very same auction, I spotted this beautiful Rolls Royce. It describes it as being fully restored, but to me it it not clear that a car with the reputed low mileage of 47K. odd would require a full restoration. Nevertheless, a most impressive looking car. Wonder if our two Rolls Royce gurus could add to this. Regards Styria

I’m not a huge Spirit expert but a few things of note I would deduct if I was judging, based on the fact it is a low mileage car, and “fully restored” to me this means factory original.
I really do not believe this car has only 47,000 miles.
I will need some input from the expert judge Brian.
So:
LPG
Chrome wheel arch moulds not factory (Brian?)
Single fine line on hub cap [brian?)
Shut lines boot to side lights.
Non genuine audio unit (Kenwood)
Alpine audio unit and exposed wiring in boot.
Tinted windows
The alignment / figment of the back axle to wheel arch radius doesn’t look right (axle to far forward check left hand pic)
I don’t think cell phones were fitted in the Crew factory (Brian?)
Droopy passenger seat rear storage
No storage bag for jack
Tools look like a Jag tool kit not Rolls-Royce (it even has a manual sunroof tool, but car does not have a sunroof)
Jack Barclay Ltd sign scuffed and scratched and so is the stainless sill / scuff plates on all doors
Paint missing off driver side rocker cover
Can’t see any sponge filters in the air intake grills at the bottom of the windscreen (Brian)
No under bonnet insulation (bare brackets)
Ratty intake to manifold
Dust everywhere under bonnet
Oil and grime on engine

Things that just annoy me for photography reasons.
Non aligned dash air vents
Head rests different heights
Misaligned and dirty gal screws on Jack Barclay Ltd plate
Misaligned screws on all door sill stainless steel door scuff plates.
Dirty hydraulic fluid container in boot

It is very difficult to asses solely from photos. In response to Patrick's observatiosn:
LPG- The engines were run-in in the factory using LPG and manage it quite well.
Chrome wheel arch moulds not factory (Brian?) Patrick is correct. Never supplied by Crewe.
Single fine line on hub cap [brian?) That is entirely up to what the original owner ordered.
Shut lines boot to side lights. Need to see in person to be certain of the cause.
Non genuine audio unit (Kenwood). Orginal units were Alpine and most are now dead so have been replaced.
Alpine audio unit and exposed wiring in boot. Very poor workmanship - after market.
Tinted windows. A matter of choise I guess. Not to my liking.
The alignment / figment of the back axle to wheel arch radius doesn’t look right (axle to far forward check left hand pic). Need to see and check in real life.
I don’t think cell phones were fitted in the Crew factory (Brian?). This is a correct period British Telecom phone. I have mine in the cupbaord.
Droopy passenger seat rear storage.
No storage bag for jack. Jack and tools live behind the boot panel covering the rear seat. There is no storage bag required as there are vearious clips to hold the jack in situ.
Tools look like a Jag tool kit not Rolls-Royce (it even has a manual sunroof tool, but car does not have a sunroof). Not a Crewe tool kit.
Jack Barclay Ltd sign scuffed and scratched and so is the stainless sill / scuff plates on all doors
Paint missing off driver side rocker cover
Can’t see any sponge filters in the air intake grills at the bottom of the windscreen (Brian). Only present on some early models and later replaced by fine wire mesh.
No under bonnet insulation (bare brackets). And some strange loop holders under bonnet?
Ratty intake to manifold.
Dust everywhere under bonnet.

Incorrect tryre size noted on QLD compliance plate. I wonder why?

It could be OK but again you need to see, feel and smell if it is right.
Regards,
Brian

This one is a bit different - Bike of the week ? I spotted one at Westmead Hospital some six to eight months back. From a distance, front on, it almost looked like a Maxi Scooter - you know, them big ones . Had a closer look and, lo and behold, it turned out to be a Suzuki Boulevarde. I had never heard of one ever, so in due course I just had to look it up on the Internet. Twin engined, 5 speed box, shaft drive, engine capacity 1800cc. By any other description - a monster. I just love the look - forget the rest. Regards Styria
