It was an absolute pleasure to meet you today Geoff, And thank you for your help and being so generous with your time
As I mentioned my single malt tasting will depend on Karen sharing
With regard to preparing the car for shipping I'd ventured to the big green sausage sandwich place, procured some 4 x 2 off cuts, cut into short lengths, for free, and some gaffer tape and cable ties, paid for.
The seller had a low front trolley jack so we started at the passengers side front and lifted the car at the jack point, the body rose about an inch then the wheel started to follow it up
, Same at the back and drivers side. The wheel could be pushed down a little but not enough to get any thing between the wishbone and chassis.
I believe the cone the air bellows rides on has adhered to the collapsed bellows, the wishbones were definitely not seized. That the back axle exhibited the same behavior indicates this.
So, what to do? I didn't have the time, resources or inclination to start removing components and freeing stuck bits so it was off the supercheap for 4 wheel dollys. As luck would have it a combo deal special was on so out we walked with 4 dollys and a neat wheeled trolley to store them on for $499, a touch over half price
Half an hour later and the car was mobile and ready to be loaded on a truck and head of into the sunrise
