Shpuld be able to buy parts for ABS it was introduced on the later W116, in August 1978, Mercedes-Benz was the world’s first motor manufacturer to officially introduce the new ABS. In December 1978, ABS became optionally available, initially in the S-Class at an extra charge of DM 2,217.60.

As a retrofit, I would be sceptical. One would require many components to be installed and or replaced. Once done, the whole system would need to be inspected and certified by an engineer. THis cost may be just the difference between consideration of an upgrade or just going out and finding an ABS equipped vehicle.
