Hello everyone! I am at the beginning of a long journey to return automatic transmission to my car. Currently, a 5-speed manual transmission is installed. But! Initially, from the factory, there was an automatic with steering column controls. To replace it, I managed to find a complete car that was disassembled. In exactly the same configuration as my car,engine M110.922,transmission 722.100

However, I will continue. I received the motor with the box in an unconnected form. And completely everything that is necessary for installation. I will list: automatic transmission mounting brackets, driveshaft assembly,brake pedal,steering column with shift lever,all wiring from the car,instrument cluster with gearshift indicator. The automatic transmission had to be washed for quite a long time from a thick layer of oil dirt, after which it was removed from the engine. When I unscrewed the vacuum line from the modulator, oil started oozing out of the connection. Is this not normal?

The column shifting W116 is quite a rare option. It was never offered by the MB dealers here to my knowledge, although the two prime ministerial cars ordered by Gough Whitlam were column shifters.

I hope that at least someone is interested in my story) The other day, I washed the gearbox from a thick layer of dirt and oil that was pouring from the engine. I completely disassembled and cleaned the steering column with an aquablast. Primed and painted, put semi-matt acrylic varnish on top. I re-galvanized the fasteners, lubricated and replaced the plastic washers in the switching mechanism.
