Unfortunately, I am past dreaming of owning a car such as this 300C. That, however, doesn't mean that I don't like them. I know that the 300C is not as popular as the 300D with its fully wound down sides, but in a quaint sort of a way, the 'C' is more appealing - because it could be considered the "ugly" duckling alongside the "D" - yet I think it is rarer.
What many of us may not know, the 300s use the American BorgWarner DG automatic box, as used in....wait for it.....are you ready ?......Rover Mark I, IA and Mark IIA, B and Cs, as well as certain Jaguars, Humber Super Snipe, Lagonda Rapide (now there is a car) and probably some others. In addition, the 300D is fitted with front discs and calipers exactly the same as the Rover 3500 P6. They are, of course, calipers produced by Girling. Maybe the Poms did something right after all...Geoff, thanks for your kind thoughts. Regards Styria
