Up close and personal with an SLR today

I always liked these, but only had the privilege of seeing them in photo's and video's. Today while driving to a remote location here on Maui, I spotted this at the Mercedes-Benz PGA Championship, which is being given away as a prize. Got my ticket BTW, finger's crossed.

Truly an amazing and beautiful machine!

Hi Nutz, wonderful looking machine, isn't it ? Especially from the front and also the rear - won't get much meaner nor purposeful looking. However, have a look at the side view ! That little "pimple" of a glass house trying to look in proportion to the l - o - n - g bonnet - it is out of all proportion. Hate the looks of that car side on.

Twelve months ago, I chanced to look at an Aston Martin and an SL 55 AMG (similar to the SLR from the side) being parked behind each other and guess what ? The Aston left the Benz for dead styling wise - from the side ! Well, that's my opinion anyway.

Also, the interior of the SLR - would anyone like to comment on it, especially the dash layout ? I have seen nicer. Regards Styria

Even though it may be carbon fibre, it looks like cheap Fraud plastic to me - not what I'd expect in a million dollar car.

I like the car, but prefer it with a roof and in Silver arrow silver
