Hi motec6.9, I am glad you're back. I know it took some time, but for some reason, at this stage unknown on my part, Geoff was only able to look, but could not post. I am glad it's all fixed. The car itself - we've worked on a couple of 107s, one being a 350SL and the other a 450SLC, and the rust in those was horrendous. From memory, the 450SLC took five grand of rustwork, and the 350 was recognized by a guy that worked for me at the time as a car that had previously been 'rust bodged', and the new owner had paid fifteen grand for the car.
Both cars reached the point of no return, but that is the sort of thing that can happen. On the silver 450SLC, note the rust in the ribbed panels - we've remade those, but it is horribly time consuming and somehow they vever seem to have quite the correct contour. There should be photos of our work, particularly the 350SL, somewhere in the deep yonder of topklasse, illustrating the work involved. Regards Styria
