No experience with them at all.
But they sound good...

Knowledgable guys and easy to deal with. Fast turn around time, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for brake booster rebuilds.

Thank you, Craig.

I just have to visit the cars now (scattered over three locations) to get the part numbers of the various boosters I need worked on. There were various intra-series changes, and if possible I want to stay original. If they can rebuild (or exchange) they might get my business, as no-one within coo-ee of Lismore is the least bit interested or competent in these jobs.

I'll try them with one and, if happy, send them a larger parcel.

There used to be stainless steel sleeves readily available to refurbish these hydraulic units, anyone know if they are still around?

Don't know if they use s/steel or not, but I have been offered a kit for rebuilding the booster on my 300SE coupe -- with change from $100.

Of course, there is still no local service that will take on the job.

Then everyone to date insists that my W116 booster is not rebuildable. Period. I've also been unable to find a used one worth the risk of buying, given that I already have three dead-or-dying for that series. It seems that the minute one disturbs these original boosters (by, e.g., replacing the master cylinder) they cark it. New they are reportedly NLA, although I may have seen a source in the US (can't find it now -- mustn't have bookmarked it) that had them for about $US800. Not cheap by the time it gets to Oz.

I shall be interested to learn PBSA's angle on it.

Hi Gordon, as you would be aware, the servo unit is made up of two distinctly different components, namely the Master Cylinder and the bellow itself.

As far as the Master is concerned, my brake people will not rebuild them - it's just not worth the effort and time, with no guarantee that the end result would be satisfactory. Better to buy a new unit after-market, if available. Let me know if you want me to do some chasing around for you.

As far as the Bellow is concerned, just get a price from the people in S.A. Those I can get rebuilt for you in Sydney, and whilst I have had only three done over the last few years, two I know of are still working perfectly
satisfactorily in two of the cars. The jobs are about three and five years old.

Regards Styria
