In these times of prosperity, the prospect of pumping through 100 gallons of Petrol greatly appeals to me. Okay boys, now that we have traversed ten miles, where to next ? Ah, okay, the Service Station.

N.B. You see, I do read the fine print. Regards Styria

Having driven (piloted?) a Merlin engined Railton Special, I can assure you the torque is prodigious, the progress is rapid and the steering monumentally heavy. Would I own one? Yes; in a flash.

Boys can't handle a big machine like that......Fascinating though, isn't it ? I knew of a guy at Croydon Park (in Sydney) that used to specialize in buying scrap from the Railways. Like, here he was in a normal suburb, with a fairly large yard, a couple of sheds, crammed with obsolete machinery, including three fully reconditioned and rebuilt Diesel locomotive engines that he had paid $100.00 each for. I was fascinated, as I was also taken by an Air Cooled Magirus Deutz truck engine, just air cooled with that huge cooling fan. His place was an Aladdin's Cave. Regards Styria
