Thanks for reply. I would like the contact details as I could get the car to Sydney if I get desperate.Regards Mark.
He’s a Lebanese guy who works semi mobile.
Waleed is his name and he comes to my workshop regularly and fixes cars. His English is very poor. I am happy to work as a translator.
If and when you decide, I’d be happy to introduce you.

Mark, as a matter of interest, did you ever manage to find a suitable and qualified Auto Electrician ? I ask this question belatedly because even in Sydney it can be difficult to locate someone that has the necessary "old car" knowledge to repair and service various components. Some eighteen months ago, I experienced issues with the Starter Motor on my son's Rover 3500S and two or three Auto Electricians we googled simply refused to take on the work - "no, too old, we can't get the parts", and one guy quoted $600.00 but wasn't confident of a proper repair. In the end, I found an "old style" Electrician who repaired the unit at a cost of $300.00. Regards Styria

Hi Patrick, since that Auto Electrician rebuilt the Rover 3500S starter motor, he has decided that he's had enough and sort of half closed his premises. Whilst he is a good tradesperson, I found his work ethics a long way short of the standard and application I am looking for. In my own right, I was also looking to have some work done, but he was full of promises, but never delivered. His workshop is an absolute abomination of a man's ability to run tidy premises, and as far as I can see he will eventually leave our shores and leave his mess behind.

However, I am able to recommend the services of another Auto Electrician who runs a Mobile Service. He is a good guy, reliable and a capable tradesperson at the same time. I am not totally certain if he is capable working on older cars, but he does know his job. I can recommend him - I believe I have sung his praises probably some eighteen months ago. Regards Styria
