It is one make, and one model, that has always stirred my blood. I have referred in another thread (the previous one !) to a long wheelbase 300SEL I used to own. Well, during that term of my ownership, I happened to be travelling along Parramatta Road and the premises of Arnold Glass, a well known car dealer and seller of new Datsuns - as they were then known.
Lo and behold, what did I spot in the showroom ? A Maserati Quattro Porte, the first version, and I was quivering in my boots. What a car, what beautiful shape and it was selling for $8K. Hmm....so I asked the big question - how much trade-in on my beloved 300 ? The answer ? Half a K., in other words, $500. Needless to say, that curbed my enthusiasm in no uncertain manner. Anyway, here is the car.
