Nice read(s), and good to serve as a reminder to those of us who never experienced these cars [even remotely close to] new. I couldn't help but chortle at the pics of the most worn rocker though... when I rip my engine apart later this year it'll be "hold my beer" time

yes not many M117 engines would be getting this sort of maintenance.

I know Nick very well & he loves his car! Using the wrong oil with no zinc is apparently the cause along with no oil changes for an extended period.
