I've picked up an Australian delivered 350SEL, 293,000km and pretty rusty.
I'm keen to convert my 280S to V8 and this seems to be a perfect opportunity but I want to run a carby.
The D-jet is currently not operational and I believe I will go down a rabbit hole of effort and money getting it running right. Putting fuel directly into the manifold sees it running with great oil pressure and no smoke. Compression test is 160psi minimum on all cylinders so it's pointing to a sound motor.
I have a suitable carby from another project so the only thing stopping me is an inlet manifold to suit a carby. I've seen adapters on the standard manifold but they seem to really deplete any performance an economy. Custom manifolds seem the way to go but is beyond my fabrication skills.
Anyone know of any manifolds available?
I will be parting the car out, located Perth Western Australia.
Colour is 623H - Light Ivory but has been resprayed at some stage
Interior is 104 - Saffron MB Tex
