Was it David Brown of tractor frame who said that 'cars will all look the same' when he presented his latest creation at the time - back in 1962 - the Lagonda Rapide. Well, Mr. Brown wasn't the last to create that something 'extra special' and the search will go on forever. Here are some 'not particularly way out examples' for us to evaluate and perhaps comment upon.
This is a variation on the Maserati Quattroporte. As far as I am concerned, the present Maserati (even in the last four years) whether in Coupe or Spyder form, has got to be one of the best looking cars - and they sound great as well. I only saw about three in Europe, but you can't miss them.
How about the ill-fated Rover 75 - here in Coupe form. Surely, eventoday, still one of the best styled cars with a lovely interior. There is no doubt that the British Press, expecting Nurburgring handling, crucified this Rover. Let's hope that the Chinese will make a success of it.
Believe it or not, this is the Rolls Royce Station Wagon.
You can't miss the grille of the Chrysler 300C, can you ? Or how about the feline shape of the CLS, especially in stretch form.
One of Des' favourites - the Ch. 109, this time as a Station Wagon.
Some more to come - real soon ! Styria
