The Alpine brand was relaunched with the 2017 introduction of the new Alpine A110. In January 2021, as part of a company revamp, Renault announced that Renault Sport was again merged into Alpine to form an Alpine business unit.
And sadly, the other French maker of wonderful hot hatches, Peugeot, has announced it will produce only mainstream, high volume cars now as part of the Stellantis family. Peugeot have announced they will not be making any more niche cars.

Unfortunately Brian,
It’s all about the bottom line now.
Ford do not make sedans anymore for the same reason I’m guessing.
What a shame.
We will all be driving around in a box that all look alike soon.
No wonder people like us are still in love with old cars.
This was sent to me with the caption "I present to you: The Death of Design"
[Edit] when I lived in Germany in 2009 a bloke in a village on my regular commute had an *original* Alpine 110 that he kept uncovered at the side of his house, easily visible from the overpass of the main road. I used to marvel that a) he left it in the elements and b) no-one nicked it. I spent 2 years checking it was still there every time I passed, and lost count of the times I nearly had an accident as a result :/
